Choosing to hire Tucker Roe was the best thing we could have done for the build of our tiny house. My only regret would be that we should have hired him sooner! My husband and I decided to take it upon ourselves to build our own tiny house on wheels after months of watching HGTV and for some reason we thought that we were completely capable of doing this without either of us having any kind of building experience. We were able to get our framing of our home erected, attached our metal roof, installed our windows and completed our exterior siding all by ourselves. We were dried in which was a huge accomplishment for us. Keep in mind that at every point we had to stop, educate ourselves on the process than execute. So needless to say, our project so far took us way longer than we thought it would to just get to that point. We then came to the crossroad of needing to address the plumbing, electrical and gas and knew that we were way over our heads. It was around that time that Tucker was just finishing up a tiny house build for another couple at the same DIY lot we were renting from for our build. We saw what great work Tucker did for them and we made the decision to hire him to help us with our build. In my mind I was thinking that If his wealth of knowledge in tiny homes would save my husband and I from another fight about how to do something we have no idea how to do, then he would be worth every penny. Little did we know, we would soon rely on him A LOT to help us achieve our dream home. We went forward only expecting him to do said electrical, plumbing and gas but he actively listened to what our vision was and had such creative ways of achieving the aesthetic we were going for so we continued to use him for the rest of the build. He anticipated the needs of the space that we never even had on our radar and executed them with a quality of craftsmanship we could have never done alone. In addition to the gas, plumbing and electrical, he built our stairs/storage, installed our gas stove, sink, mini-split heating and cooling system, our air circulation system and stained and installed our wood countertops, stair steps, and sliding barn door. Being that my husband and I are a gay interracial couple, I was originally nervous about hiring any help but Tucker was always warm, welcoming and incredibly professional. He never made us feel uncomfortable or incompetent. In fact, he was very mindful of our budget and would give us a list of things we can do ourselves to save our wallets and to also empower us as first time home builders. Tucker Roe was key to making our dream come to life and we could have never done it without him. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Tucker.
